Enrollment and Next Steps
Enrollment via post for the winter semester takes place from the end of July until September 30th, enrollment via post for the summer semester takes place from February to March 31st. Information on the exact starting dates and the required documents for enrollment can be found on the website of our Student Records Office in due time.
Enrollment consists of the following steps:
Please click on the button “request enrollment” in our Campo portal and print out the enrollment form. Please read the enrollment form carefully! It contains all steps you need to take to complete the enrollment process.
After you have requested your enrollment online via the Campo portal, you need to pay the semester fee via bank transfer. It is not possible to pay the semester fee in cash. Our semester fee is newly defined for each semester, you will be informed of its current amount via the Campo portal in due time. Please take into account that bank transfer from your home country to Germany can take several weeks and that the payment must reach us before the end of the enrollment period.
In the meantime, you must choose a healthcare provider and have them submit your health insurance status digitally to FAU. This process is described here. Please note that this step is also necessary if you are still going to be in your home country when the semester starts. An overview of German statutory health insurance providers can be found here.
You finish your enrollment by sending your enrollment documents to our Student Records Office via post (via regular mail or, preferably, a courier service). The required documents for enrollment are listed in the enrollment form that you generated in the Campo portal, but the same information can also be found on the website of our Student Records Office. Please take into account that the postal service/courier service from your home country to Germany can take several weeks. Please make sure that your enrollment documents reach us before the official enrollment deadline.
If you have further questions about the enrollment process please direct them to our Student Records Office.
